[Super Sol Construction Case] Subsurface Flow Reed Bed Artificial Wetland for Purification of Dairy Wastewater
Case study of purification of dairy farm wastewater using a subsurface flow constructed wetland with reed beds at a private K ranch.
We will introduce a case study of the construction of an artificial wetland using the lightweight material "Super Sol," which is made by crushing and sintering waste glass to create a foamed glass material. This project involves the purification of dairy wastewater from a subsurface flow reed bed system. Developed through a collaboration between industry, academia, and government by the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, this wastewater treatment system purifies high-concentration organic wastewater mixed with manure and milk from dairy farms to a level suitable for river discharge. Super Sol is used as a lightweight floating material on the surface of the wetland. It prevents clogging and provides thermal insulation, allowing for wastewater treatment to begin immediately after construction. 【Construction Case Study】 - Project Details: Purification of dairy wastewater using a subsurface flow reed bed artificial wetland - Application Category: Dairy Farming / Lightweight Floating Material / Parlor Wastewater Purification - Client: Private Sector - Construction Location: Bekkai Town, Hokkaido - Required Performance: Porous, Lightweight, Insulating For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
